Job Description:

FLSA Status:             None-Exempt


Under the general supervision of the Library Director, performs a variety of manual tasks in support of library services; may perform other duties as assigned.   



  • Performs a variety of routine manual library support tasks such as sorting, shelving, stacking, and retrieving a wide variety of library materials;
  • Maintains library materials according to alphabetical, numerical and categorical systems;
  • Conducts shelf reviews for accuracy, and shifts and/or transports books and other library materials to assigned areas as directed;;  
  • Assists in keeping all areas of the library in a clean, neat, and orderly condition;
  • Packs, unpacks, and distributes library shipments;
  • Assists with program and display set-ups;
  • Operates standard office equipment; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • High school diploma or G.E.D.;
    • Some experience in a public library setting;
    • Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
    • Valid state of Florida Driver’s License.



      Work requires the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.



      Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting and training room, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations.
