Job Title: SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR

Salary range: $16.00

Location: Miami Shores Village

Department: Parks and Recreation

Hours: Part-Time

Job Description:

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

• Responsibilities include supervising and engaging with participants in activities, ensuring their safety, providing guidance and fostering a positive environment. Activities may include, but are not limited to athletics, arts and crafts, music, supervision around water activities and field trips and other related programming
• Responsible for group attendance with extreme accuracy
• Serves as a positive role model and mentor for program participants
• Assists with setting up/breaking down of indoor/outdoor games
• Assists with light maintenance duties, ensuring a safe play environment
• Participates in age-appropriate programming of games and activities for children

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be age 17 or older
• Must be a strong and competent swimmer, comfortable indoor/outdoor settings, and reliable with set schedules
• Must complete/pass Level II Background Test and Drug Screening Test
• Must be available from June 9^th-August 8^th
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
• Must be available for counselor orientation Date TBD
• Must be available for summer interview date (interview date TBD)

HOURS AND WAGES

Hours:  Must be available to work Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:30PM, subject to scheduling  

Pay rate: Starting rate at $16.00/hour based on qualifications and experience, paid weekly

Employment contingent on successful pre-employment Drug screening and Level II Background screening
