NOTICE OF VACANCY ON VILLAGE COUNCIL

PERSONS INTERESTED AND QUALIFIED FOR APPOINTMENT MAY APPLY
Councilmember Crystal Wagar resigned from her Councilmember seat on the Miami Shores Village Council effective Thursday, December 29, 2022. Section 22 of the Village’s Charter provides that if a vacancy occurs on the Council a majority of the remaining members shall appoint a qualified person to serve until the next regular election.
The Council hereby notifies all those interested persons who wish to be considered and are qualified to fill the vacancy to submit the following information no later than 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11 to the Office of the Village Clerk via email. No late submissions will be considered.


In order to be considered eligible for appointment, the person must be a resident elector of the Village and must have resided in the Village for at least 6 months from the vacancy date. In order to verify eligibility, please present:
1. A valid government issued photo identification card
2. A voter registration card
3. A complete Residency Affidavit (This form is available online at Residency Affidavit.)
In addition to the documents numbered 1 through 3, the Village Council requests that you submit a resume and letter of interest, expressing your interest and the reasons why you should be selected for appointment.
The Council intends to appoint a qualified candidate to fill the vacancy at a Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, beginning at 6:30 PM. Individual applicants will be given a maximum of five (5) minutes to address the Council regarding their interest in the vacant office.
